Stepping foot into the vibrant land of Oaxaca, Mexico, was like entering a world of wonder and magic. As a photographer and one-half of a loving couple with Jason, I knew this journey would be unforgettable. The sights, smells, and flavours that awaited us promised an extraordinary experience.
Oaxaca greeted us with a breathtaking array of colours that seemed to come alive with each passing moment. The streets were adorned with traditional textiles in rich reds, and the walls with vibrant murals seemed to tell their own stories. We couldn't resist capturing the lively markets, the bustling streets, and the stunning landscapes that reflected the vivacious spirit of Oaxaca.
The air in Oaxaca was filled with tantalising aromas that beckoned us to explore the culinary wonders of the city. The scent of sizzling tacos and freshly baked pan de muerto in the vibrant food markets excited our taste buds. Through our cameras, we captured the delicious dishes and the heartfelt passion of the local vendors as they shared their culinary heritage.
Oaxaca's culinary scene is a paradise for food enthusiasts, and we were eager to embark on a gastronomic adventure. Back in Philadelphia, we live in the predominantly Mexican neighbourhood of the city, and our absolute favourite place to eat is just down the road from where we live Las Cazuelas Restaurant. So we were excited to dive into the local cuisine. From the complex mole flavours to the smooth mezcal sips, each dish was a celebration of Oaxacan culture. We made sure to savour each bite.
Oaxaca's heart beats to the rhythm of its traditions, and we felt truly blessed to witness and document the cultural festivities that unfolded before our eyes.
