This year’s photo competition at our village’s 83rd Horticultural Show was spectacular. With so many stunning entries, judging was a challenging task, but seeing the creativity and talent within our community was a true delight. We are delighted to see how this Photo Competition has grown in popularity over the years.
We had three categories this year. The first, “Dramatic Skies,” captured breathtaking moments where the heavens put on a show. The second, “A Splash of Colour,” brought vibrancy and life to the forefront, with images bursting with energy and hues. Finally, our advanced category, “Unexpected Beauty,” showcased the extraordinary in the everyday, revealing hidden gems through the eyes of our talented villagers.
The rest of the show was equally wonderful, with the village hall filled with beautiful vegetable baskets and the finest produce in the South West. The competition for the best veg was fierce, with each entry showcasing the dedication and skill of our local gardeners. The cakes on display were nothing short of mouth-watering, with their delicious aromas filling the air and their intricate designs adding a touch of sweetness to the day.
As always, our village’s green-fingered and artistic residents didn’t disappoint. We are already looking forward to next year’s competition and will have to start thinking about what themes will inspire you all next. Thank you to everyone who participated in the Photo contest at this year's 83rd Horticultural Show —it’s your passion that makes this event so special!
